Matt Gilmour Real Estate (a licensee of Harcourts Cooper & Co Real Estate Ltd) recognises the trust you are placing in us through your dealings with us. We are committed to the protection of your personal information. Our policies comply with our obligations under the National Privacy Principles that form part of the Privacy Act 1988 and are intended to protect your privacy in respect of any personal information that you may provide to us.

What information we collect and why

We collect your contact details from the following areas:

  • Open homes and auction registrations
  • Competitions and promotions held by Matt Gilmour Real Estate and/or Harcourts Cooper & Co Real Estate Ltd
  • Online property and appraisal enquiries via all public portals i.e. Trade Me, Realestate.co.nz etc.
  • E-Newsletter registrations
  • Third party marketing agencies and lead sourcing (i.e. Find My Agent & cold calling companies)

Matt Gilmour Real Estate collects these details to contact competition winners and to inform you about upcoming properties, events, activities and promotions on the Hibiscus Coast. Upon your request, all information provided can be removed from our active database.

Security

All personal information collected by Matt Gilmour Real Estate is held securely in a database on the company’s computer. The information collected in connection with this site is held by Harcourts Cooper & Co and is not submitted to any third party unless legally required to do so. The database is protected by a firewall as well as host-based security. Harcourts does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. Harcourts complies fully with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. We will not share, sell, rent, swap or authorise any third party to use your contact details without your permission. If you feel you have received an email from us in error please contact matt.gilmour@harcourts.co.nz  

How you can unsubscribe from the Email Marketing service

You can choose to unsubscribe from our email newsletter at any time by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the email. If at some future stage you choose to register to participate in a contest or promotion, your details will again be put onto our database to receive information from Harcourts Cooper & Co. If you do not wish to receive these emails you will need to unsubscribe again.

Right of access to your information

You have the right to update and correct your personal information held by us. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is up-to-date and complete. If you wish to update or correct your personal information held by us please email matt.gilmour@harcourts.co.nz

No information is disclosed to a third party unless we are legally required to do so (i.e. when listing a property with Harcourts Cooper & Co, we need to process your identification and proof of address with a third party company to comply with AML/CFT requirements).

Junk mail or unsolicited email

You will only receive emails from Matt Gilmour Real Estate if:

  • You have registered your information at an open home
  • You have registered your interest to buy a property by auction
  • Entered a competition/promotion run by Matt Gilmour Real Estate and/or Harcourts Cooper & Co
  • Made an online enquiry for a property we have listed
  • Made an online enquiry for an appraisal
  • Made an enquiry with a third-party agency who collects information on our behalf (such as ‘Find an Agent’ or ‘My Top Agent’)

While we do all we can to guard your privacy, no data transfer over the Internet is 100% secure. When you share your information with us, it is at your own risk. There are ways you can help maintain the secrecy of your information:

  • always close your browser when you have finished your user session
  • ensure others cannot access your personal information and emails if you use a public computer.
